Speaking the unspeakable

I am ready to say it. After today's loss to France it is time for someone to say it.

Fair play to our forwards! Amazing grit and determination.

Our problem was with the backs, and one back in particular. It is time for us to end the era of pretty boy, glamour rugby and get back to the basics. It is time to to get back in the trenches.

The first step is clear. It is time for O'Driscoll to go back on the A-team.

And, by the way, O'Sullivan needs to go with him.

Completely agree! Hats off to the boys in green today. Good to see some "fire" in their eyes. But O'Driscoll needs to sit for a while. And "so-long Eddie."

Yes I agree totally. Play it tight tight tight tight did I say tight? Yes. against the Scots I want to see wave after wave of phases ie rucks mauls etc and the occasional kick only if in real difficulties. If Munster can do this so can Ireland . Problem is O Sullivan wont do that.We cant run it anymore when we have forwards like those in Paris.Fantastic! But will the lesson of the last 25 mins of that match be learned? No it wont.Unless of course O gara decides to go against script and the Forwards decide that the pretty boy stuff isnt working. They themselves will change things. That is what I believe happened in the French game. We decided to play power rugby the way the all Blacks have always played it- phase ,phase, phase.
Go for it Ireland next Sat.I cant wait!
